A good link profile is not just backlinks. Stated another way, backlinks are just one component of the link profile. There is a deeper complexity to the backlink discussion. Make sure your website is optimised for mobile. When someone is searching for something on a mobile device, Google will now promote websites which are mobile friendly ahead of ones that aren’t. The easiest way to build high quality links are what SEOs call “web 2.0s.” That’s just a way to say “social sites” or sites that let you post stuff. Now tweeting a link into the abyss won’t do you anything, but profiles, status pages, etc. do carry some weight. And if they come from a popular domain that counts as a link. The URL parameter tools supply Google bots with information on how to handle URL with specific parameters. If you are using Bing, it comes with a tool that can help all unwanted parameters.

SEO is a many-headed beast. From off-page elements to on-page elements, covering all aspects of SEO can easily become a Herculean task, especially when dealing with large websites. Let the world know you are creating fabulous content

You should always Google keywords before committing to them.because it’ll help you to understand what—in Google’s eyes—is the best result for that particular keyword. If most of the results are vastly different to the content you’re trying to rank, it probably isn’t a great keyword to target. Sometimes you just can’t target a specific keyword on a product or service page of your website – it just won’t fit and look natural. In these instances you can always take advantage of having a blog. Do a quick Google search for that keyword and check what other pages rank. Both Google and Bing take page-loading speed into account in their website ranking algorithm. Linking out is huge. Don't be a link hoard; you're going to create content, so use it to gain favor with other people. I'll go more into depth below with specific tactics on linking out, but in general, you only have something to gain when you’re linking out.

Do Your (Keyword) Research

During the life of any website pages come and go. It’s perfectly normal to remove a page, but what can frustrate visitors is finding their journey blocked by a dead page. Worse, a page that is removed loses any importance a search engine has given it. Every piece of content should have the user in mind. This also applies to SEO. You can’t create your next piece of content, or carry out keyword research, without knowing your audience. Trustworthy sites tend to link to other trusted sites, while spammy sites receive very few links from trusted sources. We asked an SEO Specialist, Gaz Hall, for his thoughts on the matter: "Use a directory structure that organizes your content well and makes it easy for visitors to know where they're at on your site. Try using your directory structure to indicate the type of content found at that URL."

How does your website look now on different devices?

Google cares deeply about the indexed age of both your site and its content. A brand new site that's a newcomer to Google is going to have a far harder time ranking on its SERPs than a site that has indexed age. The correct order of keywords will generally rank better as compared to the same keyword phrase in a different order. People like to seem smart and cool in front of others. Try to create content that makes people feel this way. Make them feel they’re ‘insiders’. Pick a list of words relevant to your business. Then create separate lists of these keywords for each country. Focus on “long-tail keywords” -- keywords that are very specific to your business and the products/services you offer. For example: marketing is a broad keyword that will be hard to get traffic for, and inbound marketing software is a long-tail keyword with less competition that will be easier to get traffic for.
